Annual plan saved money

This was my first time signing up for ESPN+. I usually go for the cheapest option. I chose the Annual Subscription because it saved a good chunk compared to paying monthly. I watched some LaLiga matches and a few 30 for 30 documentaries. The amount of content for the price seemed like a good deal. It felt like I got my money's worth, especially with the annual discount.

Good for MLB games

I got the Monthly Subscription mainly for MLB out-of-market games. Setup was simple and I watched a few games right away. The stream quality was decent. It worked for what I needed.

Reliable for fight nights

I've used ESPN+ several times now, mostly for UFC Pay-Per-View events. This last time I bought a fight through their PPV bundle deal. It was just as easy as my previous purchases, no issues with buffering or lag, which is key for live sports. I also caught some PGA Tour Live coverage earlier in the month. It's consistently delivered good quality streams for me. I keep coming back because it's dependable and they have the fights I want to see.

I'm thinking of signing up but I travel a lot for work. Can I use ESPN+ when I'm outside the US?

B Ben 6 days ago
I don't think so, man. From what I remember, it's geo-restricted to the US. Tried using it in Canada once and it didn't work. You'd probably need a VPN.

M Michelle Thomas 3 days ago
Pretty sure it's US-only. Afaik, it checks your location so if you're out of the country, it just won't stream. VPN is probably your only option.

Is the Disney Bundle worth it if I mostly just want ESPN+? Like, is the discount actually good or just a marketing thing?

H Hannah M. 1 month ago
The Disney Bundle discount is pretty solid if you'd actually use Disney+ and Hulu. It's usually like 20-30% off compared to getting all three separately. If you only want ESPN+, it's probably not worth getting the other two just for a slight discount.

Yeah, it's a real discount, not fake. But only if you'd watch the other stuff. I have it for the kids' Disney+ and my sports, and it saves me a decent chunk of change every month. If you literally only care about ESPN+, then maybe just get that.

I'm currently on the monthly plan. Is it easy to switch to the annual one? And how much do you actually save?

J Justin Anderson 1 month ago
Super easy to switch to annual. Just go into your account settings on the website, there should be an option there to change your subscription type. You save like 15-20% usually, it's not huge but it adds up over a year.

Yeah, I did that last year. You just go to your subscription details and there's a button to upgrade to annual. It processes it immediately but your monthly charge stops at the next billing cycle. The savings are definitely noticeable if you're planning to keep it for a while.

Thinking about getting ESPN+ for the UFC fights. Are there ever any discount codes for those PPVs, or should I just get the annual sub and hope?

S Sean J. 1 day ago
Yeah, what they said. I've only ever seen the bundle with the annual sub. Otherwise, you just pay full price for the PPV on top of your subscription. Annoying, but that's how it goes.

S Sandra 1 day ago
Nah, regular promo codes for UFC PPVs are super rare, almost never happen. Your best bet is usually the bundle they do where you get the PPV and a year of ESPN+ together, that's usually the only 'deal'.

hey, was wondering if anyone knows if ESPN+ has commercials? like during the live games or just for the on-demand stuff?

W William Lopez 4 weeks ago
It does have commercials, yeah. Not as many as regular cable sometimes, but definitely not ad-free. You'll see them during live events and also before/during some of the shows.

Yep, there are commercials. Not like, full cable commercial breaks, but they're there. Some events seem to have more than others, but it's not totally clean viewing.
